New Delhi: Ending the days of trial and tribulation, Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was granted bail on Thursday in a drugs case, but was later released from Arthur Road Jail on Saturday.
Citing the reason for the delay in release, Arbaaz Merchant’s father, senior advocate Aslam Merchant, shared that it was because the paperwork in the sessions court was delayed and could not be submitted within the time limit.
He shared in an interview, “There was delay in the paperwork in the sessions court and while the release memo was being typed, the entire court’s power got tripped for around 25 to 35 crucial minutes.”
For the unaware, Aryan Khan was arrested on October 3 in an alleged drug case after being detained a day earlier on a cruise ship. The 23-year-old was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on Friday (October 29). He walked out of Arthur Road Jail a day later as document work was being presented in court. Many fans cheered on Aryan’s release outside Shah Rukh’s house Mannat.
A special court on Saturday granted bail to alleged drug smuggler Achit Kumar and six others arrested in a drug seizure case in which Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan is also an accused.
Special court judge V V Patil, while hearing cases related to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, granted bail to seven accused.
With this, 12 out of the 20 arrested accused have so far got bail in the high-profile case.
