I am a loyal soldier of Trinamool: TMC MP Nusrat Jahan on Yash Dasgupta joining BJP

Nusrat Jahan Ruhi, a Trinamool Congress MP for the 2021 West Bengal assembly elections, Tollywood actor Yash Dasgupta joined the BJP on Wednesday.

BJP leader Soumitra Khan gave divorce notice to wife Sujata Mondol Khan to join TMC. Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan Ruhi said on Friday that he remained a “loyal soldier of TMC” and would continue to work for his party.

It was the first Lok Sabha MP from Basirhat in West Bengal, who gave a statement in response to a question about his friend Yash Dasgupta joining the BJP.

Tollywood actor Yash Dasgupta joined the BJP on Wednesday amid much fanfare. His entry into politics came against the backdrop of a large number of actors, both men and women, joining Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s TMC before the 2021 assembly elections.

Rumors of dating Yash Dasgupta emerged in the backdrop of Nusrat Jahan’s visit, which the duo reportedly took to Rajasthan.
Nusrat Jahan Ruhi married her businessman husband Nikhil Jain in 2019. However, unconfirmed reports in recent times have indicated a rift in their relationship.

Earlier this week, Yash Dasgupta told IndiaToday.in that nothing is unusual despite his joining the BJP as his rumored acquaintance Nusrat Jahan Ruhi is campaigning for the Trinamool Congress.

“Why can’t this happen? Family members at home don’t have different opinions, political or otherwise?” Yash Dasgupta said.

Asked if it was akin to the political affiliation of actor Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle Khanna, Yash Dasgupta said, “Oh no, Akshay and Twinkle are married. Nusrat and I are not. But I am getting drift .
