K Kavitha is the daughter of the President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. She was arrested on Friday by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Delhi liquor scam case, she is being taken by a probe agency for further investigation.
She was arrested after searches at her Hyderabad home earlier in the day. During the searches, a heated argument took place between the probing agency and BRS leader KTR Rao. Kavitha was taken to Delhi on a flight at 8.45 pm.
Soon after the probe agency team arrived to conduct searches at her residence, former Minister Harish Rao , working President KT Rama Rao and a large number of BRS leaders including supporters, gathered outside the residence in her support. On her arrest, party leader Ravula Sridhar Reddy said, ” The elections are near, and she has to do campaigning also. So, if the hearing is scheduled on the 19th, then what is the hurry?”
