Security forces said top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Salim Pare was among two terrorists killed in an encounter in Kashmir today. Senior police officer Vijay Kumar said, “The killing of top Lashkar commander Salim Parre is a big success for the police.” Kumar said that Salim Parre was involved in the killing of 12 civilians in 2016.

“Srinagar police surrounded Salim Pare and he opened fire. He was killed in retaliation,” he said. “In the 2016 agitation, Salim Pare had killed 12 civilians by slitting their throats,” he said.

Perrey, a resident of Hajan area of ​​Bandipora district, was an A+ category terrorist and was included in the ‘Most Wanted List’ of the security forces. Parre was killed in an encounter in Shalimar.

Another terrorist was killed in a separate encounter in Gusu area of ​​Srinagar.

This is the second encounter of the year 2022. Security forces gunned down an infiltrator in north Kashmir’s Kupwara area on Saturday.
