Lieutenant Governor flagged off electric buses; Pollution will be curbed

New Delhi: Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Admiral (Retd.) D.K. Joshi flagged off a fleet of electric buses today. The project of 40 electric buses is being implemented by NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN Limited), a 100% subsidiary of NTPC Limited, a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The introduction of electric buses in the state will help in reducing tailpipe emissions as well as providing comfortable public transport.

In addition to the above project, NVVN has emerged as a successful bidder to provide suitable solutions related to 90 electric buses in Bengaluru under the Smart City project. These buses will provide last-mile connectivity to the Namma Metro network.

NVVN is developing and providing a complete range of solutions related to zero-emission dynamics for various categories of vehicles. NVVN is also developing charging-related infrastructure in many cities across the country with an aim to encourage people to adopt electric vehicles faster.
