Manish Kumar, a sanitation worker, became the first person to receive the COVID-19 vaccine shot in AIIMS

A health worker at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi received India’s first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine on Saturday, making the world’s largest vaccination campaign a success.

Manish Kumar, a sanitation worker, became the first person to receive the COVID-19 vaccine jab in AIIMS, Delhi in the presence of Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan.

Earlier in the morning, PM Narendra Modi launched the Covid-19 vaccination campaign saying, “Never before in history has there been such a huge vaccination campaign“.

AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria also received a Covid-19 vaccine shot at AIIMS in Delhi.
