Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced a price hike for all its models from January 2022. The country’s leading carmaker says that the manufacturing cost of vehicles has been adversely affected due to an increase in input cost in the last year.

The company also mentioned that the price hike will vary according to the variants of different models. Currently, the brand’s portfolio comprises 14 cars ranging from Alto (Rs 3.15 lakh, ex-showroom) to XL6 (Rs 9.98 lakh, ex-showroom). It is to be noted that the Maruti Suzuki model has faced a price hike thrice in 2021. The most recent increase was 1.9 percent which was imposed by the carmaker in September 2021. Looking at the sales report for the last festive month, the company recorded total passenger vehicle sales of 1,09,726 units. Of these, sales largely depended on the sub-segment of Mini and Compact, which registered sales of 74,492 units.

Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki is preparing three new models for 2022 – Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift, Vitara Brezza facelift and new Alto. The test mules of these models have already been spotted testing on public roads.
