Metro man E Sreedharan to join BJP in Kerala during party’s Vijaya Yatra

Before this year’s Kerala elections, ‘Metro Man’ E Sreedharan is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party, which was announced by Kerala BJP President K Surendran today. Sreedharan will be formally inducted into the party during the BJP’s ‘Vijaya Yoga’ to be held from February 21.

Sreedharan told the Malayalam newspaper, “This is not a sudden decision. I have been in Kerala for the past decade and want to do something for the state. I cannot do anything. The BJP is different and that’s why I joined the party.” Manorama

Sreedharan, who advised the Kerala government on metro projects in the state, said that he would now end the practice. “I will focus on BJP-centric activities,” the newspaper reported.

In 2017, there was a minor quarrel during the inauguration of Lucknow Metro, after which the top BJP leaders forgot to accommodate the ‘Metro Man’ in the frame. Sridharan was sidelined in the event, a photo of which has gone viral.

While showing Sreedharan, the ministers were seen running to share the stage with CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Ministers at the inauguration ceremony. Ministers who arrived to push the start button included Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma, Law Minister Brijesh Pathak, Tourism Minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Technical and Medical Education Minister Ashutosh Tandon.
