After the arrest of Delhi’s CM Arvind on Thursday, ED seeks the custody of Arvind Kejriwal for 10 days. After the questioning session, the probe agency titled Mr. Arvind Kejriwal as the “kingpin” and “key conspirator” in the liquor scam. It was claimed that the Arvind Kejriwal is the middleman involved in the the ‘south group’ and other accused. Also probe agency alleged that Mr. Kejriwal is involved in the scam with AAP officer Vijay Nair and ex-Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia who was already arrested last year in the same scam.
After Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday night, Aam Aadmi Party leaders and supporters commenced protests in many states. Some of them were also got detained as they were raising slogans and blocking roads leading to traffic. Meanwhile, a video went viral during his arrest, shared by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which showed that Kejriwal reaffirming his ‘commitment’ to the country, and said “Whether I am inside or outside, my life is fully dedicated to the country,”
CM was arrested after skipping nine summons. Recently, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and daughter of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, K Kavitha, was also arrested in connection with its Liquor Policy Scam. Supreme Court has also denies the plea for her bail.
