Out On Bail, Man Accused Of Hathras case, shot Woman’s Father

Hathras, Uttar Pradesh: A man who came out on bail on Monday in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district, about 200 km from Delhi, was jailed for some time in 2018 in a sexual harassment case. UP Hathras shooting accident: So far one person has been arrested in the case.

In a detailed statement on social media, Hathras police said that accused Gaurav Sharma was kept in jail for a month in 2018, as a molestation case was filed against him by the woman’s father. He was granted bail by the local court a month later and has been out of jail ever since.

“The man whose case of molestation was registered against Gaurav Sharma in July 2018. The accused went to jail and got bail after a month. Since then the two families were opposed to each other. The main accused had a wife and an aunt. One To pray in the village temple where this man had two daughters present. The women had an argument. A person from Gaurav Sharma’s family has been arrested in the case so far. The news agency reported that as the authorities asked for strict action in the case, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the authorities to enforce strict National Security Act against all the accused involved in the case.

Video shot by local journalists on Monday showed a crying child outside a police station and demanded justice.

Hathras police chief Gaurav Sharma said, the main accused in the case, runs his social media page under the name ‘Gaurav Songra’.

On his Facebook page, the accused has posted several pictures describing himself as “Samajwadi Party leader”.

The latest such post was made on 27 February, where the accused called people to attend a farmers’ conference called by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav in Aligarh on 3 March.

In September last year, a 20-year-old Dalit woman was raped by four men from a so-called upper caste community in Hathras that shocked the entire nation.

He later died due to injuries in a hospital in Delhi. There was widespread criticism from police about handling the case and the victim’s late-night funeral, where the family said they were not allowed.

The four accused in the case have been charged with gang rape and murder after investigation by the CBI. The CBI has also made allegations against the accused under the SC / ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
