PM Modi released 10th installment of PM-Kisan Fund on New Year

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday released the 10th installment of financial benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan).

Under this scheme, an amount of more than Rs 20,000 crore was transferred to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) had earlier said that the money transfer is in line with PM Modi’s continued commitment and resolve to empower the grassroots farmers.

The government said a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year would be provided to eligible farmer families, payable in three equal four-monthly installments of Rs 2,000 each.

Funds are directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. An amount of Rs 1.6 lakh crore has been transferred so far under this scheme.

The program was organized through video conferencing on Saturday.

PM Modi also released equity grant of over Rs 14 crore to around 351 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), which will benefit over 1.24 lakh farmers. He will also interact with the FPOs and deliver speeches during the programme.
