Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday hailed the government’s announcement that Kerala’s first Vande Bharat Express would be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week and said he would attend the train flagging off by the PM from Thiruvananthapuram.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Tuesday said that Kerala’s first Vande Bharat Express will be launched by Prime Minister Modi on April 25.
Responding to the announcement, Tharoor tweeted, “Recalling my tweet 14 months back suggesting Vande Bharat trains to Kerala. Ashwini Vaishnav has done exactly that from Thiruvananthapuram on 25th Looking forward to flagging off Narendra Modi’s first train.” Must be beyond politics.
He tagged his February tweets in which he said that an interesting element for Kerala in Budget 2022 is the announcement of 400 new Vande Bharat trains that can travel at 180 kmph.
