‘Deep sense of loss cannot be expressed in words’: Ratan Tata on death of close confidant RK Krishnakumar
Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus and industrialist Ratan Tata paid his last respects to his former close aide RK Krishnakumar. The veteran said that the loss he has felt at the demise of Krishnakumar cannot be expressed in words. Tata said he would always remember the camaraderie shared between the two.
“Words cannot describe the deep sense of loss I feel at the passing away of my friend and colleague RK Krishnakumar. “I will always cherish the camaraderie we shared within the group and individually,” Ratan Tata said in a statement.
Tata described the maven of industry as “a true stalwart of the Tata Group and Tata Trusts and will be greatly missed by all.” Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran also paid his last respects to the Tata group veteran and said that Krishnakumar, also known as KK, always wanted to help the less privileged.
“Mr. R. Krishnakumar was a veteran Tata leader who made immense contributions to the Tata group during his lifetime. I had the privilege of knowing him and what stood out was his deep sense of compassion as a human being. He always Wanted to help the less privileged and make a positive impact on their lives. We pray for his departed soul and will miss him”, said Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran.
RK Krishnakumar died of a heart attack on Sunday evening. He was 84 years old at the time of his death. Krishnakumar was a close confidant of Ratan Tata and was also reportedly part of the team that worked with Tata in the Cyrus Mistry case. Meanwhile, the last rites of the former Indian Hotels owner will be performed today at 4.30 pm.
