Screening of ‘The Kashmir Files’ has got full fledge standing ovation for this cinematic masterpiece

One of the most important, relevant and unreported story of Indian history, Vivek’s next film ‘The Kashmir Files’ was invited by several prestigious institutions and organizations of USA.

Mumbai: The makers of the much-awaited film ‘The Kashmir Files’ got a big surprise during the screening of Exodus drama held in New Delhi recently.

Appreciating filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s vision for making this story (that needed to be told) highlighting the plight of Kashmiri Pandits, a packed cinema hall received a standing ovation for this cinematic masterpiece. The screening echoed the same sentiments of the audience, who couldn’t stop admiring the ideas and brilliant narrative shown by the lead cast.

Late last year, Vivek and his wife-actress Pallavi Joshi visited the USA with a month-long schedule for special screenings of their much-awaited film ‘The Kashmir Files’ in different cities.

One of the most important, relevant and unreported story of Indian history, Vivek’s next ‘The Kashmir Files’ was invited by several prestigious institutions and organizations of USA.

The critically acclaimed filmmaker, along with Pallavi Joshi, is excited about the humble and heartfelt response that ‘The Kashmir Files’ is getting during the film screening.

Vivek led by wife Pallavi Joshi and team, despite being under threat of fatwa, conducted extensive research over the past three years and carried out this task. His team studied each story and eventually set out to make a feature film. Despite the challenge of COVID-19, Vivek believed in his mission, completed the research and wrote a compelling story and screenplay that turned into an epic film on screen in two hours, fifty minutes without any songs.

Living up to its title, ‘The Kashmir Files’ is a true story, based on video interviews of the Kashmiri Pandit community’s first generation victims of the Kashmir genocide. It is a heart-wrenching narration of the pain, suffering, struggle and trauma of Kashmiri Pandits and questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics and humanity.

Written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, this Exodus drama stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi and Chinmay Mandlekar in lead roles.
