Sukesh says paid for designer decorations at Kejriwal’s house, demands probe into repair row

Conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar has written another letter to Delhi LG VK Saxena, this time seeking a probe into the alleged purchases made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to beautify his official residence. Sukesh has claimed that he paid for expensive furniture and bedding for the AAP chief’s house, the renovation of which is now under scrutiny.

“During the said renovation and post that, there were expensive furniture and bedding which I paid for at the same residence of Arvind Kejriwal which is currently under investigation,” the letter read. He claimed that the furniture was selected by Arvind Kejriwal and Satyendar Jain on the basis of photographs sent by him on WhatsApp and Face Time chats on his phone.

In his letter, the man accused in the Rs 200 crore extortion case claimed that the AAP supremo had paid lakhs for expensive home decor items.

He has also alleged that CM Kejriwal had bought home decor items worth lakhs of rupees from Ralph Lauren and Visionaire brands for the CM residence.

“Apart from these furniture they wanted silver crockery, which was given by a famous South Indian jeweler in lieu of the allotment of Rs 90 lakh, kickback in the jeweler’s Karol Bagh project offered by me. 15 thali plates and 20 silver K glasses.” , some idols and several bowls, all spoons in pure silver, were delivered to the official residence,” read the letter.

The BJP has accused the Delhi government of spending Rs 45 crore on the repair of Arvind Kejriwal’s residence during the Covid pandemic. In the wake of reports of crores being spent on renovation of Kejriwal’s residence, Delhi LG directs Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to secure all relevant records, examine records and submit a report within 15 days for LG’s perusal .

Refuting, AAP MP Raghav Chadha listed the amount spent on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official residence and aircraft and said the debate should be in perspective.

Amid the ongoing controversy over the renovation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence, the Delhi BJP on Friday said it will launch a ‘Jhootha Kahin Ka’ campaign to show the AAP national convenor’s ‘U-turn in politics’. Presenting pictures of Arvind Kejriwal’s renovated house, BJP said that Arvind Kejriwal lives in opulence like Iraq’s Saddam Hussain and North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un.
