New Delhi: On Monday, terrorists attacked a convoy of CRPF and J&K Police Jawans in Pampore area of Jammu and Kashmir. Two soldiers were killed in the incident, while 3 soldiers were injured. The injured soldiers are undergoing treatment at Army Hospital. It is considered to be one of the biggest terror attacks in Srinagar since last year’s Pulwama attack, in which a suicide bomber attacked an army convoy, killing 40 CRPF personnel. The terrorists are being searched by blocking the area.
The attack took place around 12.50 pm on the Pampore bypass. The militants opened fire on the joint party of 110 battalions of CRPF and J&K Police personnel. In view of the incident, traffic has been stopped on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and many CRPF vehicles have been deployed here. Civil traffic is prohibited and security in the area has been increased.
Ten days ago, a terrorist made another attack on the Indian Army and managed to escape. An encounter between militants and security forces took place on September 27 in Sambura area of Avantipora in Pulwama district. Two terrorists were killed by the security forces. A policeman was injured in the firing of terrorists.
Let us tell you that the terrorist attacks on the police and army convoys have intensified for the last few months. On August 16, two CRPF personnel were killed in a terrorist attack in Kariri Pattan area of Baramulla. Security forces also killed 2 terrorists. Earlier on August 14, two policemen were killed in a terrorist attack in Naugam, Kashmir. On August 12, security forces were attacked at Sopore in Baramulla, in which a soldier was injured.
