Republic Day Parade 2022: How To Watch Online And Live On TV
The livestream and telecast of Republic Day Parade 2022 is happening today (Wednesday, 26 January). India is celebrating its 73rd Republic Day on this occasion, so the Ministry of Defense has organized this event with full pomp. The parade in the capital will begin with Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting the National War Memorial for the wreath laying ceremony. Thereafter, President Ram Nath Kovind, the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, will begin the parade with a flag hoisting ceremony. You can watch Republic Day Parade 2022 online on your TV set or on your laptop or smartphone.
Keeping in view the current COVID-19 situation, special arrangements will be made in the Republic Day Parade 2022. These include a small number of seats for spectators. The government is also encouraging people to watch the parade online or through broadcasts on their television.
Like last year’s celebrations, the Republic Day parade will not have the chief guest in 2022 due to the pandemic. The number of soldiers in marching squads has also been reduced from 144 to 96. Similarly, the route for the marching contingent has been shortened to the National Stadium. It had earlier ended at the Red Fort. However, the tableau, which will be 12 in number, will continue till the monument in the heart of the city.
The Republic Day Parade 2022 will begin at 10:30 am instead of 10 am to provide “better visibility to the parade and flypast”, the Defense Ministry said in a press statement.
This year’s Republic Day parade will see a grand flypast of 75 aircraft and helicopters of the Indian Air Force apart from marching contingents. There will also be a cultural performance by 480 dancers selected through the ‘Vande Bharatam’ dance competition.
