To promote religious tourism in HP, Chintpurni shrine will be connected by ropeway

To promote religious tourism in the state, the government is considering connecting some religious places with ropeways for easy access and is also strengthening the existing infrastructure.

In this series, an aerial ropeway of 1.1 km distance is proposed for Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple in Una district at an estimated cost of Rs 76.50 crore. This modern transport system will facilitate 700 passengers per hour in each direction, significantly enhancing the overall pilgrim experience.

Chintpurni temple holds great historical and spiritual importance. It is recognized as one of the Shaktipeeths and the most sacred temple in Himachal Pradesh.

Currently, access to the temple is limited to a single-lane road from the Baba Mai Das Bhawan parking area. During religious occasions like Navratri, overcrowding and congestion remain a persistent problem.

The introduction of the ropeway will be an important step in addressing these challenges and is in line with the State Government’s vision of enhancing religious tourism in Himachal Pradesh.

The installation of the ropeway system at Chintpurni temple is expected to not only provide relief from congestion but also ensure safe and uninterrupted movement of pilgrims.

This ambitious project is set to boost tourism in the area and encourage devotees to visit the temple revered as a major pilgrimage site in India.
