Two influential leaders left Farooq Abdullah’s NC party, preparing to join BJP

Rana, younger brother of Minister of State Jitendra Singh, was counted among the most influential leaders of the NC.

In a setback to the National Conference, two senior leaders Devendra Rana and Surjit Singh Salathia resigned from the party on Sunday 10 October.

Putting to rest all speculation, Rana, who was the party’s provincial president in the Jammu region, announced the decision in an interaction with the media.

National Conference tweeted, “Dr. Farooq Abdullah has received and accepted the resignations of Mr. Salathia and Mr. Rana. No further action or comments are considered necessary.”
