LUCKNOW: In a meeting with officials on Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that after the cancellation of UP Board class 10th and 12th exams due to COVID-19, no merit list will be declared. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting of Kovid management through virtual medium from the government residence. CM Yogi said that the results of the Board of Secondary Education (UP Board) will be prepared soon after deciding the guidelines regarding the preparation of results of high school and intermediate examinations.
CM Yogi said that due to corona infection, the 10th and 12th examinations could not be held this time, so the merit list of the result should not be prepared. Also the technical education department should conduct the online exam. Along with this, the Higher Education Department has also been directed to take a decision to promote the students at the earliest.
For the students of class 10th and 12th it was decided to give an opportunity to the students of these classes to appear in the examination when the situation improves so that they can get a fair opportunity to increase their marks. Presently the marks will be awarded largely on the basis of marks obtained in the previous class and pre-board examinations conducted earlier.
Speaking on the issue, an official of the Department of Secondary Education said, “We are giving an option to the students that if they are not satisfied with the marks of the canceled examination, the board will allow them to conduct the High School and Inter exams next year. Will allow you to sit in Jaye.”
4,000 suggestions were received for the evaluation formula
The UP Board had received around 4,000 suggestions to prepare the results of over 56 lakh students registered for the high school and intermediate examinations of 2021. Officials had said that the board had asked all stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers and principals, to send them. Suggestion by 2 pm on June 10, so that the formula for declaring the results of the canceled examinations of class 10 and class 12 students can be determined.
Promotion of 56 lakh students
In view of the pandemic, the 10th, 12th board exams were canceled this year. After the decision to cancel the CBSE examinations, CM Yogi Adityanath had taken the decision to cancel the UP board examinations. This year more than 56 lakh candidates have registered for the Uttar Pradesh class 10th, 12th board exams. As per the official data, 29,94,312 class 10 students and 26,10,316 class 12 students have been promoted to the next classes without exams this year.
