UP Budget 2021: Yogi government’s populist budget, free water for farmers, cheap loans

Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government (BJP government) presented the first paperless budget 22021-22 in the assembly on Monday. Uttar Pradesh will be the first state in the country to do so.

The budget of the financial year was presented by the state’s Finance Minister Suresh Khanna in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Reading the budget from the laptop in the House, Khanna said that the government’s goal is to make Uttar Pradesh ‘self-reliant’ and for all-round development.

This is the fifth and last budget of the current tenure of the Yogi Adityanath government before the next year’s assembly elections. Therefore, the government has announced free water and cheap loans to woo the farmers who are angry with the Center.

Finance Minister Suresh Khanna has announced an allocation of Rs 700 crore for free water facility to farmers. Along with this, the Finance Minister has also announced to give loans to farmers at a discounted price. State Finance Minister Khanna said that more productive crops will be identified in the state and farmer production organizations will be established at the block level. For this, an allocation of Rs 100 crore has been proposed in the budget.

Also, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna announced that students preparing for competitive exams will be given free tablets. He said that counseling of unemployed youth is being done, so far 52 thousand youth have got the benefit. Now similar centers will be built in many other districts.

140 crores for the development of Ayodhya
The Finance Minister has proposed an allocation of Rs 140 crore for the development of Ayodhya in the next financial year. A provision of Rs 50 crore has also been made in the budget for the construction of National Inspiration Site in Lucknow. 101 crores has been allocated for Maryada Purushottam Shriram Airport, Ayodhya. Making a presentation to the Legislative Assembly, Finance Minister of Uttar Pradesh Suresh Khanna said – “The airport under construction in Ayodhya district will be named ‘Maryada Purushottam Shriram Airport’.” I propose a budget provision of Rs 101 crore for this. “

2,000 crores for Jewar Airport
The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated Rs 2,000 crore for the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath earlier said that “Noida International Airport” would be one of the best airports in the world and assured that his government would leave no stone unturned to make it world class. CM Yogi also said that the establishment of Noida International Airport, Jewar will lead to the structural development of industrial infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, which will increase employment opportunities.

Highlights of UP Budget 2021-22
The budget size for the year was Rs. 05 lakh 50 thousand 270 crore 78 lakh rupees (Rs. 5,50,270.78 crore).
The budget includes new schemes of Rs. 27 thousand 598 crore 40 lakh rupees (27,598.40 crore rupees).

Farmer welfare
In order to double the income of farmers by the year 2022, an outlay of Rs. 100 crore proposed for Ata Nirbhay Krishak Samman Vikas Yojana in the year 2019-22.
600 crores proposed for Chief Minister Krishak Durga Shakti Kalyan Yojana.
700 crores for free water facility to farmers.
400 crores for providing crop loans to farmers at concessional rates.
Target to install 15 thousand solar pumps in the financial year 2021-22.
