Union IT and communications minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said Apple has come to India during a big way. At the inaugural session of the 23rd edition of the Bengaluru Tech Summit held virtually on Thursday, he said that even during the Covid period, “nine operating units, along side component makers, shifted from China to India”
Prasad had said earlier that Samsung, Foxconn, Rising Star, Wistron and Pegatron were filing applications under the PLI scheme. In his inaugural at the tech summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the pandemic has shown the facility of technology and the way seamlessly Indians have adapted thereto.
Prime Minister modi said time for tech solutions that are designed in India, but deployed for the planet.
While lockdown and travel restrictions have kept people faraway from the workplace, the resilience of the technology sector was visible which ensured uninterrupted work from home. that prime amount of technology adoption is there to remain .
“Challenges bring out the simplest in people, perhaps it’s relevant to India’s techies. When there’s a requirement in customers or deadlines, you’d have noticed the simplest solution comes out,” he added.
