New Delhi: Delhi Capital defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs in the 16th match of Indian Premier League (IPL). In this match played in Sharjah, Shreyas scored 88 runs on 38 balls while playing the captaincy innings. Thanks to Shreyas’s Atishi innings, Delhi scored 228 runs in 20 overs. Prithvi Shaw scored 66 runs on 41 balls. Rishabh Pant was also behind, he scored a quick 38 runs on 17 balls. In bowling, Narkia spent 33 runs in 4 overs and took 3 precious wickets in Kolkata. With this win, Delhi came on top in the points table.
Kolkata captain Dinesh Karthi’s decision to field by winning the toss proved to be wrong. His bowlers spent a lot of runs. Delhi gave them a big target of 229 runs. Kolkata did not have a good start. Kolkata’s hopes seemed to end after his dismissal, when Ian Morgan and Rahul Tripathi played a vigorous innings, bringing Kolkata’s hopes alive again. Morgan scored 18 runs on 18 balls. Tripathi scored 36 off 16 balls while playing with Margan. But with both of them out, Kolkata’s hopes were over and they lost the match by 18 runs. However, chasing such a big total, he played brilliantly.
