The official said Kapil Sharma had filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police last year alleging that Dilip Chhabria and others duped him of Rs 5.3 crore.
Mumbai: The Mumbai Police today arrested famous car designer Dilip Chhabria’s son Bonito Chhabria in a cheating case registered against him on the basis of a complaint by comedian Kapil Sharma. An official gave this information.
In this case, the Crime Branch officials had called Bonito Chhabria for questioning. After questioning, he was arrested, the official told news agency Press Trust of India.
The official said Kapil Sharma had filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police last year alleging that Dilip Chhabria and others duped him of Rs 5.3 crore.
In the complaint, Kapil Sharma told the police that he had paid Mr. Chhabria over ₹5 crore between March and May 2017 to design a vanity bus for him. But due to no progress till 2019, Kapil Sharma had approached the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
However, Mr. Chabria had last year billed Kapil Sharma ₹ 1.20 crore as parking charges for the vanity bus. After that Kapil Sharma approached the police and lodged his complaint.
