Ghanshyam Nayak alias Nattu of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah resume work after 9 month

Actor Ghanshyam Naik aka Nattu Kaka in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma is one of the most loved characters in a long running comedy show. The actor was diagnosed with a lump in the neck, after which he was admitted to Suchak Hospital in Malad.

He underwent neck surgery and stayed away from the camera for some time. “Eight knots were removed. And, I don’t know how many were formed. Those knots have been sent for further testing, but I believe God, jo karega achcha hi karega,” He shared in an earlier interview.

When shooting for the show resumed after the coronovirus lockdown, actors older than 60 years were not initially allowed to take to the set. This also halted Ghanshyam’s return to the show. Now, he took a break exactly nine months after he said he was back on the shoot. The actor started filming on 16 December. He said that he is in good health and the episode featuring him will be aired soon.

“I last shot for the show on 16 March and now I have started shooting for it from 9 December to 9 months later. Yes, my track has been brought back and the episode will be aired in a day or two. When the shooting began after the lockdown, there was a law that banned older actors over 60 years old for shooting. Then I had to undergo a major surgery. The operation was successful and now health is good.

Regarding the Corona precautions on the set, Ghanshyam shared, “All protocols are followed and security measures are taken properly. Asit Modiji’s production house takes care of all of us very well. We are provided to pick and drop facilities from home”
