Here’s how Britannia owner become world’s richest biscuit maker

New Delhi: Hurun, the world’s largest rich list provider, on Wednesday launched the 12th anniversary edition of the 2023 M3M Hurun Global Rich List. The list includes five sectors – healthcare, paints, aviation, telecom and biscuit manufacturing – where Indian billionaires have been featured as the richest in the world. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has overtaken Gautam Adani to grab the title of richest Indian with a net worth of USD 82 billion.

As per the latest list, the family of Noolsi Wadia and Britannia Industries is the richest biscuit maker in the world. His net worth is $8.2 billion. The list also includes vaccine makers Cyrus S Poonawalla, Ashwin S Dani and family, Mukesh Ambani, Rakesh Gangwal and Rahul Bhatia. The list has been brought out in association with M3M India.

With 187 billionaires living in India and 16 new ones, India remains the third largest billionaire-producing country in the world. India is second only to China and the US in the number of billionaires.

Serum Institute of India industrialist Cyrus S Poonawalla is the world’s richest healthcare billionaire ($27 billion), followed by Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries’ Dilip Shanghvi and family ($17 billion). With a net worth of $7.1 billion, Ashwin S Dani & family are the world’s richest paint entrepreneurs, though they are down 108 ranks this year.
