MG Motor India sales up 17.5 percent in September 2022

British brand MG Motor India sold 3,808 vehicles in September, and 3,808 cars in September 2022, up 17.5 per cent from the same period last year.

The company says that it was able to see a growth of 11 percent in the third quarter of CY2022 as well, on a year-on-year basis.

Moreover, MG Motor India says that its performance is constrained just like the industry’s supply chain issues; hence, its models see a waiting period of 3-6 months. However, it does say that it is focused on creating and delivering meaningful customer experiences.

MG Motor India says that it has received positive feedback on the new Gloster that was launched last month. The all-new ZS EV has also done well and has the highest retail numbers this year so far.

MG Hector and Astor SUVs are also seeing good demand from customers. However, semiconductor availability problems persist, limiting MG to supply only the Astor MT model for the time being. The company says that it expects to start deliveries of the automatic variant of the Astor soon.

Currently, MG Motor India manufactures its vehicles in Halol, Gujarat, which has an annual production capacity of 1,25,000 vehicles and employs around 2,500 employees.
