Just weeks after its theatrical release, Rajinath starrer Annaatthe is streaming on OTT platforms Netflix and Sun NXT. On Netflix, the film is streaming in five languages - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
In just two weeks of its theatrical performance, Annaatthe earned over Rs 200 crore at the worldwide box office. Talking about the authenticity of Annaatthe’s box office figures, trade analyst Manobala Vijaybalan earlier told indianexpress.com, “When it comes to superstar Rajinikanth, there are many people who have different political opinions and different opinions. There are perspectives, they always try to find a way to demean the star. In the form of their film. Unlike Hollywood, we don’t have a transparent open box office system where the audience can watch it for themselves, so some groups watch it. Will always take it as an advantage to share contradictory negative reports to create confusion among viewers.”
While Annaatthe did not impress critics, Rajinikanth called it a “memorable film”. He shared via a message on his Hootee account, “Shiva spoke very innocently and honestly and I immediately liked that. I asked if he had a story for me. And I told him we should be Vishwasam.” Like to give a hit.”
Manoj Kumar R of Indianexpress.com gave Annaatthe a star in his review. He wrote, “If you ask Shiva, he can say that it is every filmmaker’s dream to direct Rajinikanth in a film, and he is no exception. But, what an excuse that Rajinikanth could possibly partner with a director,” he wrote. Can give to work that doesn’t bring anything new to the table, or promise to further increase the popularity and market that they command?”
Annaatthe, which released on November 4, also stars Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Jagapathi Babu, Suri, Abhimanyu Singh, Prakash Raj, Meena and Khushboo.
