Swiss Open 2021: PV Sindhu won silver medal, after losing to Spanish Carolina Marin in the final

PV Sindhu came out for silver in the Swiss Open 2021 after losing in the finals to Spanish sophomore Carolina Marin.

Ace shuttler PV Sindhu of India settled for a silver medal in the BWF Swiss Open Super 300 as she reached the women’s singles final, losing 12-21, 5-21 against World No. 3 Spaniard and Olympic champion Carolina Marin on Sunday.

World champion shuttler, who has recently faced a lot of criticism for her lack of performance in the past year, entered the semifinal stage of the BWF tournament after 19 months.

In her first semifinal after 13 tournaments, Sindhu defeated Mia Blichfield of Denmark 22–20, 21–10. The Swiss Open was the first tournament in the calendar year with which the race began in Tokyo.
