There is a famous temple of Mother Chandi Devi in ​​Haridwar, the Dharmanagari of Uttarakhand. Mythology

The court of Mother Chandi, situated on the Neel Parvat, adjacent to the Ganges, dates back to ancient times. When Shumbha, Nishumbha and Mahisasur had created a cataclysm on this earth, the gods tried to kill them, but when they did not succeed, they pleaded for the destruction of both in the court of Mahadev. Then Mother Chandi incarnated with the effulgence of Lord Shiva and the gods and took the form of Chandi and made those demons run. Shumbha, Nishumbh were hiding on this Nile mountain after escaping from Mother Chandi, when the mother appeared here in the form of a pillar and killed both of them.

The mother then asked the gods to ask for a boon. All the gods of the heavenly world asked the mother to remain seated at this place for the welfare of mankind. Since then, Mata is sitting here and doing welfare of her devotees.

Adi Shankaracharya did the renovation

Devotees from different corners of the country reach here during Navratri. Mother fulfills the wishes of the devotees. In the 8th century, Goddess Chandi Devi was duly renovated by Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya. After this, Raja Suchet Singh of Kashmir got the temple renovated in 1872. Maa Rudra Chandi is self-evident incarnated in the form of a pillar.

By Walk: The distance of Maa Chandi Devi Temple from Har ki Pauri of Haridwar is about 5 kilometers, where you can go by walk. This path is considered quite difficult.

Ropeway: Ropeway facility is also provided to go to Maa Chandi Devi Temple, which is also known as “Udan Khatola“. The fare for going to and from the Maa Chandi Devi temple by taking the ropeway facility is Rs 193. So if you are traveling from Haridwar to Maa Chandi Devi temple with an elderly person, then you should take them to see Maa Chandi Devi by sitting on the ropeway, because it can be very difficult for them to travel to Maa Chandi Devi temple by walk.
