Sakat Chauth fasting story
According to the legend, in the Satyuga, Maharaja used to live as a potter in the city of Harishchandra. Once he cooked the pot and it was not cooked. The dishes remained raw. Seeing the loss, again and again, he asked a Tantrik, and he said that the sacrifice of a child will only help you. Then he took his son, who was destitute from the death of the ascetic Rishi Sharma, and put them in Anwa on the day of Sakat Chauth. But the mother of the child worshiped Ganesh Ji that day.

After searching a lot, when he could not find a son, he prayed to Ganesha. Early in the morning, the potter saw that Anwa was caught, but the child was alive and safe. Fearing he confessed his sin to the king. When the king asked the boy’s mother the secret of this miracle, he told about Ganesh Puja. Then the king accepted the glory of Sakat Chauth and ordered to perform Ganesh Puja in the entire city. Since then, Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha is considered to be a crisis.
