Anupam Kher’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ is to release on March 11, 2022!

Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty’s upcoming drama The Kashmir Files has got a release date. The actor-writer announced that the film will hit the screens on March 11, just before Holi. The film is directed by Vivek Agnihotri.

Anupam Kher revealed the new release date of the film and wrote, “Announcement: #TheKashmirFiles releasing in cinemas on March 11th. Please support and bless us with the story of #KashmiriPanditGenocide. #KashmiriPanditGenocide #RightToJustice (sic).”

Sharing the new release date of The Kashmir Files, Vivek wrote, “Bringing the story of the Kashmir massacre to the big screen. #TheKashmirFiles releasing on 11th March 2022 #RightToJustice (sic).”

The Kashmir Files is based on the lives of Kashmiri Pandits during the 1990 Kashmir insurgency. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film is bankrolled by Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Agnihotri under Zee Studios, IAMbuddha and Abhishek Agarwal Arts banners.

The ensemble cast includes Mithun Chakraborty as Brahm Dutt, Anupam Kher as Pushkarnath, Darshan Kumar as Krishna Pandit, Pallavi Joshi as Radhika Menon, Bhasha Sumbali as Shraddha Pandit, Farooq Malik aka Bitta ( Inspired by Farooq Ahmed Dar), Chinmay Mandlekar as Puneet Issar. DGP Hari Narayan.

Earlier, the film was screened at the iconic Times Square Tower in New York on the auspicious occasion of India’s Republic Day.

Inspired by true events, the Vivek Agnihotri directorial is all set to release on March 11, 2022. The film was shelved by the makers due to the recent increase in the number of Covid cases in the country.

The film based on the life of Kashmiri Pandits will make you feel all the emotions they went through during this tragic event.

Posting on their social media, the makers wrote, ‘Bringing the story of Kashmir massacre on the big screen.

The film is directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Agnihotri under the banners of Zee Studios, IAMbuddha and Abhishek Agarwal Arts.

It features Mithun Chakraborty as Brahma Dutt, Anupam Kher as Pushkarnath, Darshan Kumar as Krishna Pandit, Pallavi Joshi as Radhika Menon, Bhasha Sumbali as Shraddha Pandit, Farooq Malik aka Bitta (Farooq Ahmed Dar).
