New Delhi: India has set an unprecedented record in total trials of Covid-19. Today the total number of trials of Covid-19 has crossed the critical level of 20 crores (20,06,72,589). 7,40,794 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours.
Continuous country-wide expansion in testing infrastructure has played an important role in rapidly increasing the number of trials of Covid. Today, there are 2,369 testing laboratories in the country, including 1,214 government and 1,155 private laboratories. These have provided considerable boost to testing capability. The overall infection rate is currently down to 5.39 percent.
The infection rate has come down due to more daily trials as well as fewer cases. The consistently high level of detailed testing has helped reduce the national infection rate.
There is a continuing trend of declining overall number of active cases in India. Today it has come down to less than 1.5 lakhs (1,48,590), the lowest in the last eight months. The number of current active cases is now only 1.37 percent of the total infected cases in the country.
During the last 24 hours, less than 100 (95) Covid patients have died in the country.
More than 54 lakh (54,16,849) beneficiaries have been vaccinated under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaign till 8 am on February 6, 2021.
The number of vaccinated beneficiaries is increasing daily.
India has become the fastest country to reach the 50 million mark of Covid-19 vaccination. India achieved this feat in just 21 days. In many other countries, the Covid-19 vaccination process has been in operation for more than 60 days.
During the last 24 hours 4,57,404 people have been vaccinated by Covid in 10,502 sessions. So far 1,06,303 sessions have been held. Vaccine recipients include 3,01,537 health workers and 1,55,867 frontline workers.
There has also been a decrease in daily new cases in the country and there has been an increase in the number of patients recovering from Covid. The recovery rate is about 97.19 percent. So far 1,05,10,796 patients have been cured. During the last 24 hours, 14,488 patients have recovered.
82.07 percent of the new cases are from six states / union territories. The highest number of 6,653 new patients have been cured in a single day in Kerala. In Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, 3,573 and 506 new patients were freed from diseases respectively.
83.3 percent of new patients belong to six states / union territories. Every day a large number of new patients are being detected in Kerala. Yesterday, 5,610 new cases were registered in the state. 2,628 and 489 new cases have been reported in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu respectively.
81.05 percent of the new cases of death are related to six states / union territories. Maharashtra recorded the maximum death of 40 patients yesterday, while Kerala and Chhattisgarh lost 19 and 8 patients respectively during the last 24 hours. Only two states recorded 10 or more deaths yesterday.
