PM Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi passed away at the age of 100

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi (100) passed away on Friday morning. He was admitted to U N Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad. Taking to his Twitter, PM Modi condoled the death of his mother in a series of tweets. He wrote in Hindi, “A glorious century rests at the feet of the Lord… In Maa I have always felt that trinity, which includes the journey of an ascetic, the epitome of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.”

After the unfortunate demise of his mother, PM Modi left for Ahmedabad where his mother was admitted. Initially, he was to flag off the Vande Bharat train under Howrah, Kolkata and other development works of the Railways and Namami Gange in West Bengal. But now, according to reports, he will do so through video conferencing.

Earlier, UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center had said that the health of PM Modi’s mother is improving. The Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) had also said in a statement that Heeraben, who was admitted to the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, would be discharged soon.

Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi said, “The love between a mother and a son is eternal and priceless. Modi ji, my love and support is with you in this difficult time. I hope your mother gets well soon.”
