Ujjain: Schools will remain closed from Monday till September 2 for Baba Mahakal’s procession

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): As the holy month of Shravan is about to begin as per the Hindu calendar, preparations have begun for the grand 7 Sawaris (processions) of Baba Mahakal in Ujjain.

In view of the massive crowds expected during the Mahakal Sawari held every Monday of Shravan, the Ujjain collector has announced that all schools (private and government) with classes from nursery to class 12 will remain closed on Mondays till September 2 and will open on Sundays to make up for the losses.

Since Shravan is associated with Lord Shiva, Mahakal Nagri Ujjain witnessed massive crowds during this month. As a result, security has been beefed up not only at the Mahakaleshwar temple but across the city.

Strict action against hoteliers and businessmen violating rules

Ujjain Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh on Saturday strictly warned shopkeepers and hoteliers not to charge more money from devotees, otherwise the district administration will take strict action against them and impose fine. Similarly, he has also specifically ordered those making bookings that there should be no looting in the name of Bhasma Aarti, special darshan, accommodation, food and parking arrangements.
