Hindu-Muslims living in India have only one ancestors, Britishers divided them: Mohan Bhagwat

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said that the ancestors of Hindus and Muslims living in India are the same.

Bhagwat said that the British told the Muslims that they would get nothing if they decided to stay with the Hindus.

Speaking at a seminar, Bhagwat said, “The British told Muslims that only Hindus would be elected and prompted them to demand a separate (nation). They said Islam would disappear from India. Did it happen? No. Muslims can hold all positions.” ‘Nation First-Nation Paramount’ in Mumbai.

Speaking at a seminar on ‘Nation first – Nation paramount’ in Mumbai on Monday, the RSS chief said the British told Muslims that they would get nothing if they decided to stay with Hindus.

Bhagwat said, “The British told the Muslims that only Hindus would be elected and encouraged them to demand a separate (nation). They said that Islam would disappear from India. Did it happen? No, Muslims are in all positions.” But you can sit,” said Bhagwat.

Further, the RSS chief said that the British told Hindus that Muslims are extremists. “They fought both the communities. As a result of that fight and lack of trust, both are talking about keeping distance from each other. We need to change our vision,” he said.

The Sarsanghchalak of RSS further said that both the communities will have to walk together to take the country forward. “The basis of our unity is our motherland and glorious tradition. Hindus and Muslims living in India had the same ancestors,” he said.

Defining the word “Hindu”, Bhagwat said, “From my point of view, the word Hindu signifies the motherland, ancestor and heritage of Indian culture.

‘Hindu’ is not a caste or linguistic noun, but the name of a tradition guiding the development, upliftment of every individual of nature. Whatever he believes, whatever his language, creed, religion, he is Hindu and in this context, we consider every Indian citizen to be a Hindu.

Addressing Muslim scholars among the intellectuals during the seminar, the RSS chief said, “There will be no disrespect to other’s opinion here, but we have to think about India’s supremacy and not Muslim supremacy. To take the country forward.” For this, everyone has to walk together.”

He further said that Islam came to India with the invaders. He said, “This is history, and it is necessary to tell it as such. The sensible leadership of the Muslim society should oppose the tyrannical things.”

The Sarsanghchalak asked the ‘sensible leadership of the Muslim society’ to vehemently oppose the orthodox community.

He said, “This work has to be done with long effort and determination. The test of all of us will be long and difficult. The sooner we start, the less harm will be done to our society.”

He said that if India becomes a superpower, it will not be there to intimidate anyone. “If India becomes a superpower, it will be in the form of a world guru. For centuries, we are striving for the upliftment of all living and non-living. Because of this no one should be afraid of becoming a superpower of India.
