Ministry of AYUSH to celebrate Yoga Festival at Red Fort on World Health Day

New Delhi: Ministry of AYUSH is organizing a grand program for display of Common Yoga etiquette on 7th April 2022 from 6.30 am to 8.00 am at 15 August Park, Red Fort, Delhi. . April 7 is World Health Day and also marks the 75th day of the countdown to International Yoga Day.

Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla is likely to be the chief guest of this program. The event will have the dignified presence of several Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, Ambassadors of various countries posted in Delhi, prominent sports personalities and Yoga Gurus.

The Ministry along with its various stakeholders has prepared a countdown program of 100 days for the 8th International Day of Yoga, in which 100 organizations are promoting Yoga in 100 locations/cities.

Ministry of AYUSH is the nodal ministry for monitoring the International Day of Yoga. Every year, the main event at IDY is a mass yoga demonstration led by the Prime Minister himself. Preparation for IDY-2022 is already underway.

It is worth noting that every year the 75-day countdown is an important event to commemorate the International Day of Yoga. The ministry hopes to inspire a “people’s movement for health and wellbeing” through yoga in the 75-day countdown to IDY-2022.

As the upcoming 8th International Day of Yoga falls in the Amrit Mahotsav year of Independence, the Ministry has proposed to celebrate International Day of Yoga (IDY) at 75 iconic sites across the country. This countdown program is already in progress and the observation of IDY-2022 is gaining momentum.
